A CLINICAL CASE REPORT OF AN EPIDERMOID CYST OF THE MANDIBLE

Epidermoid and dermoid cysts are slow-developing formations of ectodermal origin their most common location is underneath the skin. jaw bones extremely rare, with only several cases documented in dental literature. Their intraoral floor oral cavity, tongue, lips, palate cheeks. They slow-growing painless formations, usually discovered incidentally when imaging scans, as well histopathological examinations, performed. A patient sought assistance from us, presenting painful swelling right side mandible, without added infection. The radiograph CBCT scans revealed a lesion region tooth #48, extending halfway into mandibular ramus, which was surgically removed under general anesthesia. surgical technique cystectomy- complete removal cyst fibrous capsule. mucosa above bone defect then tightly sealed. histopathology report described an epidermal cyst. It follows that this type lesions, though uncommon bones, must be considered differential diagnosis odontogenic like follicular odontogeneic keratocyst.
